SHINe is multi-disciplinary forum benefitting from members from across Scotland with an interest in HPV. The Scottish Human Papillomavirus Investigator’s Network (SHINe) is a multi-disciplinary forum of professionals and patient groups involved in HPV related research or disease management. Setup in 2006, the group benefits from the combined expertise of representatives from cervical screening (Primary Care and Cytology), disease management (Pathology, Gynaecology and Colposcopy), internationally recognised basic scientists, cancer charities and lay public representatives. In addition, representation from the Scottish HPV Reference Laboratory (SHPVRL) and the team at Health Protection Scotland responsible for National Immunisation and surveillance and public and patient advisory groups make SHINe a truly relevant and integrated collaboration. The main aims of this collaborative network are to identify priorities and emerging questions relating to HPV and its associated diseases and to undertake research to address issues relevant to HPV disease prevention and management in the future.
